Grants of up to $300 to New Orleans Area, Louisiana teachers and families to help individuals affected by Autism. Applications will be accepted on behalf of individuals living in Orleans, Jefferson, St. Bernard, Plaquemines, and St. Tammany Parishes. The purpose of these grants is to help meet the educational or general needs of students, children, and adults with Autism.

Up to $300

Applications are accepted from teachers and family members of individuals affected by Autism residing in Jefferson, Orleans, Plaquemines, St. Bernard, and St. Tammany Parishes.

Applications for 2016 will be accepted October 1 - 31, 2016. In order for applications to be considered, they must be postmarked or received within this application period.

Recipients are notified before Thanksgiving.

Additional Requirements:

-Teachers are required to obtain their principal’s signature on the application and submit a copy of their teaching certificate with their application.

-Parents are required to submit an IEP page that includes both the name and the exceptionality of Autism or an assessment for Autism for the child for whom they are trying to obtain funding.

-If you are requesting funding for assistive technology like a computer or iPad, you must attach a letter from your doctor or licensed therapist indicating how the device is expected to have a therapeutic benefit.

Grant award recipients are to mail original receipts for all items purchased with the grant funds within 90 days of receipt of funds.
