Fellowships providing an annual stipend of £30,000 to Israel postdoctoral scholars working in the life sciences, physical sciences, or engineering disciplines to conduct research and scholarly exchange at a UK university. The purpose of this fellowship is to promote partnerships between scientists and researchers in the UK and Israel.

Fellowships will take place within University of Cambridge labs.

Fellows will receive an annual stipend of £30,000. Additional funding of up to £6,000, to support direct research costs including bench fees, conference attendance, and visa fees will be available through the respective university departments.

Fellowships will be tenable for up to two years. Funding for the second year is subject to the satisfactory undertaking of the Fellowship and subject to the approval of the grant committee.

Requirements:

- Applicants must be Israeli citizens; individuals with dual citizenship are eligible;

- Applicants need to be residents of Israel at the time of their application;

- Fellowships are available to Israeli scholars applying for their first postdoctoral funding abroad; it is expected that applicants will have usually spent less than 12 months as a post-doc in Israel prior to starting in Cambridge;

- Fellowships are open to graduates of a university or other Higher Education institution in Israel;

- Candidates must have received their PhD in Israel ;

- Candidates must have completed their PhD degree not more than five years before the date of application;

- Applicants must be working in the field of life sciences, physical sciences and engineering;

- Applicants must hold a doctorate by the start of the fellowship;

- The funding source will only consider applications that have been jointly endorsed by heads of departments in both the applicant’s home and host institutions;

- Multiple applications from laboratories / departments / institutions are acceptable. However, individuals may submit only one application at a time.

- All successful applicants must achieve the same exacting standards that would be met by any other postdoctoral Fellow appointed at the University of Cambridge.

Applicants must complete the online application form in English. The form is due by November 7, 2016, at 16:00 GMT.

You must include a CV (limited to three pages) with your application.

Your host lab and referees will be required to complete a separate online form. Please provide them with the "Proposed Activity Title" and your application number. On submission of an application, the system will automatically generate a number.
