Request a Grant Writer

Grants ranging from $250 to $5,000 to New York nonprofit organizations to improve the quality of life for residents of Broome, Chenango, Tioga, Delaware, and Otsego counties. Inquiries should be received two weeks before the deadline. Funding will be provided for program support, small capital purchases, or capacity building projects.

Applicants must tie their request to the Community Foundation’s Need Assessment, which focuses on the areas of community, health, housing, childcare and education, public safety, transportation, economic development, and arts, recreation, and culture.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

The Community Foundation for South Central New York welcomes proposals from qualified nonprofit 501(c)3 organizations in the five-county service region, which includes Broome, Tioga, Chenango, Delaware, and Otsego counties.

Pre-proposal Conference:

Below is a list of times and dates which have been set for grant writing workshop trainings. The maximum number of attendees at any training is 15. There is no cost to attend.

Pre-Application Information:

Applications will be considered 6 times a year and are due by the 15th of January, March, May, July, September, and November.

Inquiries must be received 2 weeks prior to the deadline.

Although the application for Small Grants is shorter, comprehensive responses are required. Keep in mind that the organization still must make its case to be considered for funding.
