Description:

Request a Grant Writer

Grants to Indiana nonprofit organizations and government entities in eligible regions to benefit the local community and address urgent needs due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. First-time applicants should contact the funding source prior to submitting an application. COVID-19 Operating Support requests will be a strong priority for funding. Proposed programs must benefit the residents of Montgomery County.

Unrestricted Grants should benefit the community in the following areas of focus: Arts and Culture, Community Development, Education, Health, Historical, Human Services, and Youth, with a current focus on Early Childhood Education.

COVID-19 Operating Support Grants: MCCF knows the pandemic has caused great stress on many operating budgets. The Foundation is offering grants to address those needs.

COVID-19 Emergency Assistance Grants: MCCF is continuing to accept requests for emergency assistance related to the pandemic, with the emphasis placed on these areas: food insecurity, child care, and health.

Term of Contract:

For Unrestricted and COVID-19 Operating Support Grants: Grants will ordinarily be made for one (1) year only.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Applications will be accepted from any new or existing nonprofit organization in Montgomery County. These organizations must be a tax-exempt organization whose purposes are described in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service Code. Grant applications will also be accepted from local governmental entities, such as the three Montgomery County school corporations, for charitable purposes. If an organization has received funding from MCCF in the past, all post-grant reporting requirements must be current before an organization is eligible to submit a new request.

MCCF does not place the highest priority on requests for operating expenses, but will consider them.

Generally, MCCF will not support the following from Unrestricted funds:
- Grants to individuals (other than scholarships)
- Programs which are religious or sectarian in nature. Proposals from religious groups will be considered when the program is open to the entire community and is not designed to teach or promote a particular religion.
- Parades, festivals, and sporting events
- Endowment funds
- Multiple grants to a single organization in one calendar year
- Any propaganda, political or otherwise, attempting to influence legislation or intervene in any political affairs or campaigns
- An organization’s past debts or existing obligations
- Post-event or after-the-fact situations.

Pre-proposal Conference:

Please note: Nonprofit Agency Zoom Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, January 26 at 10 a.m. where MCCF will review the grant guidelines, and make other announcements of interest to nonprofits.
