Request a Grant Writer

Grants averaging $5,000 to Cambridge, Massachusetts nonprofit organizations for programs that will improve the quality of life for children, youth, families, individuals, and seniors in Cambridge and the Agassiz community. Funding is intended to supplement existing sources of funding rather than replace them. Pilot projects and collaboration among organizations are encouraged. Funding is intended to support the strengthening of organizational capacity, self-reliance, and sustainability.

Activities must be open to all Cambridge residents and encourage inclusion of diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic constituencies. Preference will be given to projects of the Agassiz community or agencies seeking to increase the access of underserved groups and people of modest means to community, culture, health, environmental sustainability, education, recreation, or community building opportunities.

Estimated Size of Grant:

An average grant is $5,000.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

The agency must be a 501(c)(3) and the program must serve the people of Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Projects not funded by CAH:
- Projects proposed by individuals or for-profit organizations.
- Projects requesting general operating funds or salaries.
- Projects or programs that would not be open to all residents of Cambridge.

Pre-Application Information:

There are two annual deadlines for proposal submissions: April 15 and October 15. If the deadline falls on a weekend or holiday, applications are due by 5:00 PM on the following business day.

Typically, agencies will receive funding only once a year.
