Request a Grant Writer

Grants of up to $2,500 and grants up to $10,000 to Indiana individuals, families, organizations, and groups in eligible counties for programs that provide local communities with their basic needs. Eligible counties include Orange, Washington, Crawford, Martin, and Lawrence. Funding is intended for community services such as healthcare, food, clothing, and shelter. Generally, funds will be provided to meet the needs of applicants that are not being met through other sources.

Estimated Size of Grant:

Individuals and families: Up to $2,500
Groups and organizations: Up to $10,000

Under extenuating circumstances, additional funding may be available to individuals, families, groups, or organizations if approved by all of the Trustees who are responsible for administering the Fund.

Term of Contract:

Organizations and individuals will have one year to fulfill the requirements for the grant awarded.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Any individual, family, group, or organization located within the Organization's Orange County service area is eligible to apply for funds.

The following will not be eligible for funding:
- Candidates for political office, political parties, or any political purpose
- Activities or requests that lack solid community support
- Payment of utility bills
- Labor charges
- Distributed to individuals, churches, or groups of one specific religious denomination

Applications are available at Orange County REMC. Applications may be picked up at the REMC or will be mailed upon request. Applications may be submitted by delivery or mail to the REMC at any time before the deadline dates. The Board of Trustees will notify applicants within thirty days following action.
