Sussex County Council
Grants to Sussex County, Delaware nonprofit organizations for health and human service programs and capital purchases that benefit local County residents. Applicants may select any or all of the following program categories and primary beneficiary categories outlined below.
- Fair Housing
- Health and Human Services
*Infrastructure could include roadway construction, trash disposal, well and septic repair, public water and sewer hookup, street lighting, and construction for accessibility purposes.
Primary Beneficiary Categories:
- Disability and Special Needs
- Elderly Persons (62 +)
- Low to Moderate Income**
- Victims of Domestic Violence
**To qualify as low to moderate income, the project must benefit households that have less than 80% of AMI for Sussex County which is defined annually by the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development. For 2014, 80% of AMI for a family size of one is $26,220.

The deadline for filing grant requests is Friday, September 28, 2018. It is anticipated that the Sussex County Council will consider these requests in October and awards will be made during the month of November.
To be eligible for a grant, you must fill out an online application and submit a copy of your current non-profit status from the IRS.
