Grants generally ranging between $2,000 to $5,000 to USA nonprofits and schools, in multiple states, for programs in the areas of public education and community services. Educational programs should benefit students in grades Pre-K through 12, and stress the importance of STEM, including career and technical education programs. Within the field of community services, particular focus will be given to programs that improve the quality of life in identified communities.

The Foundation prefers to see projects that:

- Fund equipment, building improvements, supplies, materials and other tangible needs
- Reach a broad segment of the community
- Have multiple sources of funding
- Involve collaboration between multiple organizations to increase impact and avoid redundancy of services
- Are advanced by organizations that have a successful track record of at least three years and a plan for sustaining the project after the initial grant period

Eligible Communities:

- CA: Corona and Lodi
- FL: Deerfield Beach, Plant City, and Sarasota
- GA: Augusta, Conyers, Lithonia and Thomaston
- ID: Twin Falls
- IL: North Aurora, Urbana, and parts of Chicago
- KY: Horse Cave and Owensboro
- MD: Federalsburg
- MI: Mid-Michigan; primarily in Ingham and Eaton Counties with limited grant-making in Clinton and Jackson Counties
- MS: Quitman
- NC: Randleman

- PA: Leola and Lancaster
- TX: Dallas and Waxahachie
- WA: Tumwater

The majority of grants will be between $2,000 - $5,000.

Tax qualified organizations and schools are eligible to apply.

Organizations should have 501(c)3 tax-exempt status.

The Dart Foundation will not consider requests for funding:

- Individuals, including direct scholarships to individuals and personal emergency relief
- Projects sponsored by religious organizations, except for those that are widely available to the general public and free from evangelical intent
- International organizations
- Endowment funds
- Sports teams
- Political parties, candidates or organizations
Service or fraternal organizations

The Foundation strongly encourages applicants to contact them for feedback on the proposal before submitting a grant request over $5,000.
