Grants ranging from $30,000 to $75,000 to Michigan nonprofit organizations, agencies, schools, and IHEs in eligible southeast counties for projects that address community issues and improve the lives of local residents. Potential applicants must call the Foundation to discuss project eligibility before applying. Interest areas span from arts and culture, to the environment, to health and human services.

Specifically, projects must benefit Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Monroe, Washtenaw, St. Clair, and Livingston counties.

The Foundation seeks to fund organizations and projects that address the following priority areas: sustainability, regional impact, leverage, and collaboration.

- The Foundation supports projects and ideas tied to a longer-term vision for an organization. Grants are not intended for projects that end the moment the grant is expended.
- The Foundation supports programs, policies and practices produce efforts that are sustainable for the environment, economy, and residents. Organizations and projects should be socially equitable and mindful of environmental impacts.

Regional Impact:
The Foundation is particularly interested in projects that serve a large portion of the seven-county region, build relationships across communities in the region, and/or serve to test a new model in a specific geography that could later be adopted by other nonprofit organizations in the region.

Applicants must demonstrate a strategic plan about how grant funds would be leveraged to ultimately build the organization's fundraising capacity in other ways.

The Foundation looks for proposals that include meaningful collaborations between nonprofit and/or government entities (when it makes sense).
