Grants ranging from $5,000 to $25,000 to Blaine County, Idaho nonprofit organizations for programs and projects that benefit local residents. Applicants are urged to attend an informational meeting on October 16. Funding will be provided for proposals that address one of the following areas: environment, arts, health, education, recreation, and social services.

Please make note of the Foundation's criteria for funding and how your proposed project addresses one or more of the following:

- Capacity building and sustainability: providing your organization with building blocks to support your mission
- Addressing a critical community need in Blaine County
- Developing new ventures
- Creating new approaches to persistent problems
- Overall enrichment of the community
- Other important considerations:

The Foundation encourages collaborations and forging partnerships among agencies toward common goals. To this end, the Foundation welcomes joint projects.

If this will be a new project, consider how its implementation will impact existing demands on your agency’s budget and staff time. Will it replace an existing program? If it is to be ongoing and in addition to existing programs, how will funding be sought to continue beyond the term of the grant?

WRWF will consider ongoing support of programs. Pilot programs and projects begun in one year may very well be considered for ongoing support in a subsequent year. However, organizations which received a grant in both of the two immediately preceding grant cycles (2016 and 2017) are not eligible to apply.

At this meeting representatives of the Grants Committee will answer questions about the process and criteria of their organization. The Foundation's process changed last year. Pre-Application Information:

If you wish to be considered, you must complete the appropriate application. Please note that the two different funding levels have somewhat different requirements. The application, including the required attachments, is due on or before Monday, November 13, 2017. You will be notified by January 10, 2018 whether or not your application has advanced to the next stage of the process. Ultimately, grants are chosen by a vote of our full membership. You will be notified in April whether or not your grant will be funded. Funds are distributed in July 2018. If funds for a project are needed prior to July 2018, please be aware that your application may not be considered in the 2018 Grants Cycle.
