Award of $500 to a Virginia Pre-K through 12th-grade teacher who has successfully integrated agriculture education into the daily curriculum. Teachers must use agricultural information and materials in their classroom in order to help students learn the importance of agriculture while also mastering key educational standards.

Special consideration will be given to those teachers using Agriculture in the Classroom materials in their classrooms. Innovative and interdisciplinary programs are encouraged.

The winner will receive a scholarship to attend the 2017 National Agriculture in the Classroom Conference, to be held in Kansas City, Missouri, June 20-23.

The teacher selected will receive a $500 stipend, as well as a scholarship to attend the 2017 National Agriculture in the Classroom Conference. The scholarship will cover the teacher’s full registration as well as lodging and meals.

State licensed Pre-K-12 teachers who are currently integrating agricultural concepts into non-vocational, core subject areas (such as language arts, social studies, science, or mathematics).
