Virginia Agriculture in the Classroom
Award of $500 to a Virginia PreK through 12th-grade teacher who has successfully integrated agriculture education into the daily curriculum. Teachers must use agricultural information and materials in their classroom in order to help students learn the importance of agriculture while also mastering key educational standards.
Special consideration will be given to those teachers using Agriculture in the Classroom materials in their classrooms. Innovative and interdisciplinary programs are encouraged.
The teacher selected will receive a $500 stipend as well as a scholarship to attend the 2019 National Agriculture in the Classroom Conference to be held in Little Rock, Arkansas, June 18-21, 2019. The scholarship will cover the teacher’s full registration as well as lodging and meals. The Virginia winner will also be encouraged to apply for the National Agriculture in the Classroom Teacher of the Year Award.

State licensed Pre-K-12 teachers who are currently integrating agricultural concepts into non-vocational, core subject areas (such as language arts, social studies, science, or mathematics).
Applications are due by December 10, 2018.
