Grants ranging from $500 to $2,499 to Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota nonprofits in the Sioux City Tri-State area for one-time, special program needs. Funding is intended to improve the lives of local at-risk children and youth. Examples of possible grants include funding for tutors or playground equipment.

Programs must solely benefit the most at risk, in need, children in the Sioux City Tri-State Area (i.e. Woodbury County in Iowa, Dakota County in Nebraska, and Union County in South Dakota).

New and existing programs are encouraged to apply.

Term of Contract:

Funds must be expended within the year of the grant.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

- Organizations must qualify as exempt organizations under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended (or corresponding section of any future federal tax code), or to organizations defined as charitable under Section 170(b)(1) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 and its Regulations as presently existing or as hereafter amended; for projects with a fiscal sponsor, the fiscal sponsor must meet the above criteria.

- Allowable funding would include any service or item related directly to the program for which you are applying.

- Non-allowable funding would include any service or item related to general operating and/or general capital improvement.

Pre-Application Information:

All application materials must be received at United Way of Siouxland no later than December 31st, 2018 at noon.

Process for Decision Making:

Women United will review all applications and determine top tier finalists after the first of the year. Applicants will be notified of the final funding decisions by Mid-February and first quarterly funds will be distributed during a press conference in Late February.
