Greenville Area Community Foundation (GACF) - Greenville Youth Advisory Council (GYAC)
Grants to Greenville area, Michigan nonprofit organizations for projects that benefit local youth. Organizations must involve youth in the development the proposal. Funding is intended for activities that align with the Fund's mission of making a difference by empowering youth, enhancing life, and enriching the community.
Grant requests that address the needs identified by area youth will be given primary consideration during the selection process. These needs, in order of priority, are:
- Academic stress
- Negative peer pressure
- Bullying/cyber bullying
- Lack of physical fitness
- Mental health
- Sexual culture
- Substance abuse (alcohol, tobacco, drugs)
- Teen driver safety, and
- Poor adult/teenager relations
Other needs identified are learning disorders, school climate, poor school climate, planning for the future, and poverty. But if your grant application does not specifically address one of these needs, your organization is still encouraged to submit an application.
- Number of area youth affected by the grant
- Area where youth will be most affected by the grant (geographic location)
- Significance of the grant on area youth
- Ability of the grant to fulfill the needs of area youth.
