Grants to South Central Idaho and Jackpot, Nevada nonprofit organizations to strengthen communities by promoting education, financial stability, and health. LOIs are due by December 1. The funding source encourages projects that address root causes and create concrete solutions for those in need.

Grantmaking Goals and Strategies:

1) Financial Independence - Promote financial stability and independence.

-Partner with local business and agencies to assist families in financial education.

-Partner with the local Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) program to promote the opportunity for free tax preparation and tax credits.

-Partner with programs that enhance employment related skills.

-Partner with programs that enable older adults to live as independently as possible.

2) Education - Changing the odds for children in the community so they may have the opportunity for a more successful life.

-Invest in community programs that help children who face neglect or abuse.

-Partner with community groups and agencies that help to strengthen families.

-Partner with local school districts and early childhood learning specialists to advocate for and develop a Kindergarten readiness program in the community.

-Partner and invest in local programs that help students to do well in school and graduate on time.

-Partner and invest in local programs that advocate and promote best practices in education.

3) Health - Improving adult’s and children’s physical, mental, and dental health in the community.

-The priority for the Health allocation dollars will be focused on wellness/prevention.

-Invest in programs that help individuals improve and maintain physical, oral and mental health to contribute to a better overall social wellbeing, especially the underserved and uninsured of the community.

-Partner with organizations to reduce barriers to access, by covering co-pays for physical, mental health and wellness services. By providing transportation solutions for appointments

-Invest in projects that promote healthy environments as well as programs that support victims of domestic violence by helping them and their families find services, safety and stable housing.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Agencies wishing to apply for funding must meet the following criteria:
-Provides health and human services in South Central Idaho;
-Be certified by the IRS as a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization;
-Meets the UWSCID’s non-discrimination policy and has a similar non-discrimination policy.

Grants are open to organizations serving the 8-County South Central Idaho, including Jackpot, Nevada.

Pre-Application Information:

Organizations that did not receive funding in 2016 are required to submit a Letter of Intent (LOI). LOI’s will be due by December 1, 2016.

If your Organization received funding in 2016 or if you received an invitation as a result of your LOI then you are to proceed with the online Request for Proposal that must then be completed and submitted by 5:00 PM on December 31, 2016.

Applications will be reviewed in January by a non-partisan committee, and the qualified agency programs will be notified by letter the beginning of February.
