Fellowships of $7,500 and residencies of $1,000 to Washington artists working in the disciplines of performing arts, traditional and folk arts, visual arts, emerging fields, and cross-disciplinary arts. Awards will be granted based on artistic merit, ability, and talent. Fellowship recipients present a Meet the Artist event to a community in Washington State that has little or no access to art or the artist’s work.

In addition to these 14 Fellows, Artist Trust is partnering with the Millay Colony for the Arts in upstate New York to award one artist in the discipline of Craft and one artist in the discipline of Media with one-month residencies and a $1,000 stipend.

14 Fellowships; 2 Residencies

-Fellowships: $7,500
-Residencies: $1,000

The payment may be made up to one year after the application deadline

The Residency at Millay Colony for the Arts will be for one month.

Applicant must be:
-18 years of age or older by application deadline;
-Washington State residents at the time of application and payment (payment may be made up to one year after the application deadline);
-Generative artists: those who are the originators of a work of art.

Not Eligible:
-Recipients of Artist Trust (AT) Fellowships in the last seven years;
-Recipients of two prior Fellowships (artists may receive up to two Fellowships in a lifetime);
-Previous recipients of the James W. Ray Distinguished Artist or Arts Innovator Awards;
-Recipients of more than one AT grant per calendar year; graduate or undergraduate matriculated students after the deadline date;
-Current AT staff, Board of Trustees, honorary committee, consultants, contractors, current AT Fellowship panelists or their immediate family.

The application will be available beginning November 28, 2016. The deadline to apply online is January 16, 2017.
