Grants to Centre County, Pennsylvania nonprofit organizations and government agencies for a wide range of community benefit initiatives. Funding is intended for the focus areas of children's health and wellbeing, children at risk, early childhood education and care, behavioral and mental health, hearing loss, music, animal welfare, seeing-eye dog training, nonprofit support, and patriotic observances.
Funding Area Details:
1. Ben Franklin Fund ($1,866 Available)
Distributions from the Ben Franklin Fund at Centre Foundation are used to make grants to Centre, Clearfield, Huntingdon and Mifflin counties, benefiting citizens of the Commonwealth and paid to qualified charities within the region.
2. Carolyn A. Petrus Memorial Seeing Eye Dog Fund ($11,785 Available)
The fund provides funding for organizations which raise, train, and match seeing-eye dogs to the people who need them. Seeing-eye dogs can provide independence to people who are blind or visually impaired and greatly enhance by their daily experiences.
3. Centre Children's Fund ($1,592 Available)
This field of interest fund supports organizations which provide programs and services to at-risk children.
4. Centre County Medical Society Fund ($1,053 Available)
Distributions from this fund will assist non-profit organizations that are working to promote the health and well-being of the citizens of Centre County, specifically those that are fighting obesity in children and/or creating playground equipment or facilities.
5. Counseling Service Fund ($9,231 Available)
Continuing the original mission of Counseling Services, Inc. this fund supports behavioral and mental health services for Centre County residents.
6. J. Alvin and Vera E. Knepper Hawbaker Memorial Endowment Fund ($3,631 Available)
This fund will support organizations which provide vital health and education services across Centre County.
7. Louis E. and Patricia H. Silvi Fund ($996 Available)
This supports early childhood education programs that improve the health, care, and education of young children. Support from the community is critical to helping maintain the many valuable services and resources provided to families, professionals, early childhood programs, and elementary schools in Centre County.
8. Mattil Family Fund ($902 Available)
This fund supports animal welfare causes.
9. Patricia Farrell Music Fund ($6,291 Available)
Supporting music programs of all types, but particularly those focusing on children, this fund enhances the availability of music programs across Centre county.
10. Philipsburg Area Fund ($1,512 Available)
This fund supports Philipsburg-area non-profit organizations and programs.
11. Proud to Be An American Fund ($1,305 Available)
This Fund supports non-profit organizations that display, encourage, or promote patriotic observances, especially on the 4th of July.
12. Ruth E. Rishel Charitable Fund ($1,959 Available)
This Fund supports non-profit organizations and projects exclusively in the Penns Valley area.
13. William W. and Helen S. Litke Memorial Fund for the Aid and Assistance of the Deaf and Hearing
Impaired ($7,277 Available)
This fund supports programs for Centre County residents with hearing loss.
