1772 Foundation and New Jersey Historic Trust
Grants of up to $15,000 to New Jersey nonprofit organizations for the restoration and repair of historically significant sites. Funding may be used for: exterior painting, surface restoration, and finishes; security systems, lightning protection, and fire detection; roof, window, and porch repair and restoration; masonry and chimney repointing; and structural foundation and sill replacement or repair.
To demonstrate the sustainability of historic sites, applicants may be required to submit a cyclical maintenance plan, condition assessment, restoration plan or stewardship plan that has been prepared or updated within the last five years. If an appropriate plan does not exist, the foundation will consider providing support for development of a plan on a case-by-case basis.
