Request a Grant Writer

Grants of up to $3,000 to Nebraska nonprofits, for-profits, and government agencies for the development of nature-based and wildlife-viewing experiences. The purpose of this program is to foster an appreciation and stewardship of the natural world by engaging people in practical experiences.

Potential projects include, but are not limited to: viewing site development, events, infrastructure, and equipment and plan development.

The project must have a net positive impact on natural resources and wildlife.

The project must promote stewardship and appreciation of local natural resources.

Estimated Total Program Funding:

$15,000

Estimated Size of Grant:

A maximum of $3,000 is available per proposal.

Term of Contract:

For all projects, a final report is due upon project completion, with a deadline of February 28, 2019.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Everyone is eligible. Nonprofit, governmental, and for-profit entities are all eligible to apply.

If the project is sought by a for-profit entity, the applicant must describe how it is not directly linked to the profit of the organization or company.

A project that is already completed prior to completion of the grant process is not eligible.

Nebraska Game and Parks Commission projects are not eligible.

A project funded previously is not eligible.

Computers, software or items of a similar nature are not eligible.

Tower Viewers/Stationary binoculars or items of a similar nature are not eligible.

Pre-Application Information:

A 25 percent match is required, which may include an in-kind match.

Proposals are due December 1, 2017.

Awarded projects will be announced in January, 2018.

Grants will be awarded as a reimbursement program, and a match must be established in order to receive reimbursement.
