Grants of up to $10,000 to Minnesota nonprofits, government, and tribal agencies, or schools for programs that will service citizens who are homeless or hungry. Funding will be awarded to programs that seek to provide short-term housing for homeless populations, hunger relief, or shelter for victims of domestic violence. The primary purpose of this grant will be to assist agencies in improving and expanding their facilities to better serve hungry and homeless people.

Typical grant awards include funding for kitchen equipment, refrigeration and storage, repair/replacement of HVAC, shelter beds, security systems, renovation of homeless/domestic violence shelters and supportive housing, and construction to meet ADA or building codes. Grants are focused on areas within the facilities that directly serve hungry and homeless people rather than administrative space. Street outreach activities are also eligible for this grant.
