Grants to New Castle, Colorado nonprofit organizations for events and activities that promote health, welfare, education, and community vitality. In addition to programs that provide general community support, funding is available to arts organizations for arts and cultural events within the Town of New Castle.

Types of Grants:

1) Arts and Special Events Grants:

Grants are made to arts organizations, special events, and art-based educational organizations.

The Town of New Castle aims to promote broad participation in the arts and special events, encourage resource-sharing and collaboration, and provide equitable access within the Town to its limited resources through grants to arts organizations and special events.

The arts and special events community may receive grants to support activities within the Town of New Castle that address the Town policy to develop, maintain, and encourage the expansion of an environment conducive to festivals, performing arts, visual arts, and special events.

2) Community Support Grants:

Grants are made to service (human, welfare, and community), athletic, and educational organizations.

The Town of New Castle aims to promote broad participation in community support organizations, encourage resource sharing and collaboration, and provide equitable access for the Town of New Castle community to its limited resources through grants to community support organizations.

Community support organizations may receive grants to support activities and programs that are accessible to the Town of New Castle community and that address the Town policy to encourage the development of an environment conducive to healthy community organizations that provide programs for citizen welfare and education in the region.

The funding period for the 2017 grant cycle is January 1 through December 31, 2017.

Arts and Special Events Grants:

-Applications will be accepted from organizations and events that provide educational, artistic, entertainment and cultural opportunities for the public to participate in within the New Castle Town limits.

-Only one (1) application may be submitted per organization.

-Applicants may apply as a nonprofit organization, or under the umbrella of a nonprofit organization with a compatible mission statement. A letter of agreement between the applicant and any umbrella organization must be included with the grant application. The letter of agreement must outline the responsibilities of the two organizations, including: budget and program administration; ownership of names, products and so forth; copy of the resolution by the umbrella organization accepting the applicant; and umbrella organization mission statement.

-Extra information or material may not be sent to Town officials. Please do not discuss your grant with Town officials during the grant process.

Not Funded:
-Debt and deficit reduction;
-Out of town activities;
-Entertainment costs, receptions, and so forth;
-Commercial (for profit) enterprise or activities; and
-Capital improvements.

Community Support Grants:

-Applications will be accepted from organizations that provide programs for citizen welfare and education. Programming and activities shall be accessible to the Town of New Castle community.

-Only one (1) application may be submitted per organization.

-Applicants may apply as a 501(C)3 organization, or under the umbrella of a 501(C)3 organization with a compatible mission statement. A letter of agreement between the applicant and any umbrella organization must be included with the grant application. The letter of agreement must outline the responsibilities of the two organizations, including: budget and program administration; ownership of names, products and so forth; copy of the resolution by the umbrella organization accepting the applicant; and umbrella organization mission statement.

-Colorado nonprofit applicants with no 501(C)3 certificate, or umbrella organization may apply and be granted funds with stipulations, such as, staggered payments, periodic reports, presentations to the Town, and so forth.

-Extra information or material may not be sent to Town officials. Please do not discuss your grant with Town officials during the grant process.

Not Funded:
-Debt and deficit reduction;
-Entertainment costs, receptions, and so forth;
-Commercial (for profit) enterprise or activities; and
-Capital improvements.

The deadline for the applications is November 18, 2016 by 5:00 PM. Applications may be emailed to Debbie Nichols.

Notification will be by the end of 2016.
