Grant of up to $33,744 to a Washington, DC nonprofit organization, for-profit enterprise, government agency, or IHE to provide communications and design support for a program that reduces auto-body repair shop pollution. An informational meeting is scheduled for October 21. Questions may be submitted up to one week prior to the deadline.

The purpose of this grant is to provide communications and design support for the RiverCents Automotive Pollution Prevention Program. The awarded applicant will create a unified language and branding for the P2 Program that is effective at engaging businesses and educating their customers about pollution prevention. The P2 Program will provide workshops, onsite technical visits, newsletters, and a certification program that will be integral to the District’s efforts to improve local environmental health by reducing pollution from automotive repair shops.



The initial award is up to $33,744.

This period may be extended an additional two years with up to an additional $75,000 of funding provided, depending upon the performance of the Grantee and the availability of funds.

The project period begins on the date of the grant award through September 30, 2018. Because this grant award will integrate with the Technical Assistance for RiverCents Automotive Pollution Prevention Program (RFA 2016-1611-SWMD), most of the project should be completed before May 2018.

A two-year extension may be provided.

The following entities may apply for these grants:
-Nonprofit organizations, including those with IRS 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(4) determinations
-Government agencies
-Universities/educational institutions
-Private Enterprises

An informational meeting/conference call and opportunity for question and answers will be held on October 21, 2016, from 2:00 to 3:00 PM.

All applications must be received at the address below by 4:30 PM on November 7, 2016.

DOEE expects to notify each Applicant in writing of its award status within six weeks after the application due date.
