Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) - Dollar General Literacy Foundation
Grants of $1,000 to USA public libraries and school libraries in multiple states to enhance summer education programs aimed at disadvantaged youth. Eligible programs work with teens who speak English as a second language, are academically at-risk, or come from economically disadvantaged neighborhoods.
The purpose of these grants is to help libraries improve resources available to teens who are vulnerable to summer learning loss.
YALSA encourages innovative proposals that are tailored to the specific needs of the teens in the library’s community. The $1,000 grant, made possible by Dollar General, is to be used to purchase resources or deliver services to help prevent summer learning loss.
Applicants must be within 20 miles of a Dollar General store, which includes locations in all states except Alaska, Hawaii, and Wyoming.
