Grants to Roanoke Valley, Virginia nonprofit, sliding scale facilities for programs, projects, and services that provide child care, scholarships for educational activities, and other opportunities that enrich the lives of local children.

Funding is intended for organizations that benefit women, families, and children living in the cities of Roanoke and Salem, the counties of Roanoke, Botetourt and Craig. The Department of Social Services’ At Risk Fee System Programs are eligible to apply.

Specifically, funding is intended for:

- Organizational projects relating to child care.
- Support agencies in the local community in need of assistance with sliding scale child care.
- Provide scholarships to students who otherwise could not afford specific educational opportunities.
- Support after-school care or other opportunities that enrich the lives of children.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Grant applications are accepted from nonprofit, sliding scale facilities in the Roanoke Valley, including the cities of Roanoke and Salem, the counties of Roanoke, Botetourt and Craig, and the Department of Social Services’ At Risk Fee System Programs.

Applicants must provide the following documentation:

a. Cover page with agency name, contact name, address, phone number, email, website, and Federal Tax ID Number.
b. Most current audit or financial statement
c. Board of Directors roster with name, address, phone number, and employer
d. Proof of 501(c)(3) status
e. Proof of sliding scale rate
f. Licensing or regulation statement

Pre-Application Information:

Applications must be received on or before Thursday, March 15, 2018, Noon.

Grant will be dispersed in full on or before May 31, 2018.
