Madison Symphony Orchestra (MSO), Ward-Brodt Music
Award of $500 to a Madison Area, Wisconsin K-12 teachers of choir, band, general music, or orchestra to recognize outstanding contributions to music education. Strong candidates advocate for the success of their student and promote music education in school settings.
Nominees should demonstrate leadership, passion, dedication, and innovation within the musical classroom, positively affecting the lives of his/her students and the community at large.

The Award for Excellence in Music Education recipient will receive a $500 cash prize and commemorative plaque.
The award is open to current public or private K-12 teachers of band, choir, orchestra, or general music who teach within a 75 mile radius of the City of Madison.
Teachers may be nominated by a colleague, associate, current or former student, acquaintance, or friend who will be asked to describe in 500 words or less why the nominee should be considered to receive this award.
Nominations for the 2018 Award are due by Monday, February 19, 2018.
The award will be presented to the recipient during a ceremony at his/her school.
