Grants of up to $5,000 to Pioneer Valley, Massachusetts nonprofit organizations for small projects in the areas of arts and culture, education, economic development, environment, health, human services, and housing. Projects must benefit the communities of Franklin, Hampden, and Hampshire Counties.

Express Grants are for one-time occurrences including concerts, events, and symposia that are open to the general public; equipment or equipment repairs; and for technology enhancements based on a strategic plan.

Applications can be for existing programs, new programs, or projects that support an organization’s infrastructure. The Foundation accepts requests for project funding rather than general operating support.

Up to $5,000

Projects are expected to be completed within 6 months of the award announcement. The Foundation does not fund projects retroactively.

The Mission Grants Program is available to nonprofit organizations with current IRS designated 501(c)(3) status that have projects directly benefiting residents of Franklin, Hampden, and Hampshire Counties in Massachusetts.

Organizations that seek funding to provide services to residents in these counties but are headquartered elsewhere must be able to demonstrate that their services are needed in the Pioneer Valley and indicate which local partners they are working with in the region.

Those groups who are not 501(c)(3) organizations who wish to seek funding for a project benefiting the community should partner with a 501(c)(3) organization to serve as a fiscal sponsor to apply for funding.

On-line application process which will be open during two time frames in 2016. For the current intake period, applications will be accepted on a rolling basis between September 19, 2016 – December 2, 2016, 5:00 PM.

Grant applications should be submitted at least 6-8 weeks in advance of project start date.

A CFWM staff member or volunteer may follow-up on submitted application with a phone call or email, if necessary. Face-to-face review sessions may occur in limited circumstances.
