Community Foundation of Greater Chattanooga (CFGC) - Fund for Chattanooga
Grants of up to $20,000 to Hamilton County, Tennessee nonprofit organizations for a broad range of projects and programs that benefit local communities. LOIs are due January 12. Program areas include health, human needs, social services, immigrants, children, education, and neighborhood revitalization. Funding may be requested for capital expenditures or program development.
Generally, the foundation’s grants focus on the following areas of impact:
-Health Behaviors/Healthy Environments
-Basic Human Needs/Social Services
-The Needs of Immigrant Populations
-Early Childhood Development Birth through Grade 3
-Improved College Access
Within those areas, the Foundation gives priority to programs or initiatives that:
-Serve disadvantaged populations
-Serve a broad segment of the Hamilton County community
-Assist those whose needs are not adequately met by existing services
-Provide opportunities for employment
-Promote cooperation among organizations and are developed in consultation with other organizations and planning groups without duplicating services
-Enhance or improve the ability of an organization to be effective and self-sufficient
-Innovative or creative programmatic enterprises
-Enhance or improve the ability of an organization to sustain a project or program either through the generation of new funding sources, expansion of existing funding sources, or through collaboration or partnership with other organizations

The maximum request for each application is $20,000.
The Foundation looks for funding partners who are well-run organizations making a meaningful impact in the local community. In making grant choices, the Foundation prioritizes strong leadership, effective planning, and client-centered program processes.
Eligible organizations will have 501(c)(3) status, and provide services in Hamilton County or primarily serve Hamilton County residents.
The Foundation will consider applications from faith-based organizations for programs or projects that serve a diverse group of people.
The Foundation gives priority to programs or initiatives that generate matching funds and in-kind donations from other sources.
The Committee reviews grant applications three (3) times per year.
