Grants ranging from $15,000 to $25,000 to eligible USA, Puerto Rico, and Ontario fire departments, law enforcement agencies, emergency medical service providers, public safety organizations, schools, and nonprofits. Funding is intended to purchase equipment that will help save more lives in communities within 60 miles of where the funding source has a business presence.

Funding is primarily intended to help first responders purchase live-saving equipment. Examples include vehicle extrication tools, automated external defibrillators (AEDs), bunker gear, thermal imaging cameras, automated chest compression systems, vehicle stabilization struts, bullet-proof vests, all-terrain vehicles, and fire hoses.

The Foundation also provides funding for:

- Prevention Education:

Funding may be used by grantees to provide prevention education tools to the public about the importance of public safety in order to prevent disasters in the home and community. Examples include: fire extinguisher training systems; inflatable fire safety houses; prevention education materials; and programming initiatives to focus on issues such as DUI education, carbon monoxide poisoning, CPR training and accessibility, and other relevant safety issues.

- Scholarships and Continued Education:

Funding will be provided to schools to provide scholarships and financial resources to individuals pursuing a career, or advancing in their career, in the public safety sector. Funding will not be provided directly to individuals.

- Support for Members of the Military:

Funding will be provided to benefit men and women of the military who have served their country in any of the branches of the United States Uniformed Services.

- Disaster Preparedness and Disaster Relief:

Funding will be provided to grantees during and after natural and manā€made disasters, such as fires, tornadoes, hurricanes, etc. Examples include: feed first responders and survivors, and life-saving equipment for first responders to help them better prepare for any future disasters.

$15,000 - $25,000

Public safety organizations within 60 miles of a Firehouse Subs Restaurant* are eligible.

(Examples of public safety organizations include: fire departments, police departments, military agencies, schools, registered nonprofits, etc.)

Ineligible:

- Event sponsorships, exercise equipment, and family support services
- No grants for "use of force" items, such as guns or tasers.
-Power load systems, exercise equipment, radar detectors
- Individual grants
