Grants to Alabama and Georgia nonprofit organizations and schools in the Funding Source's service area to improve the local quality of life and preK-12 education. Funding is intended for programming support and the purchase of equipment and supplies for new or highly innovative programs.

Two categories of grants are offered:

Community Grants:

Diverse Power Foundation community grants support not-for-profit organizations that enhance the quality of life for residents of counties served by Diverse Power. The Foundation encourages grant requests for projects that offering programming or experiences that enrich the individual and strengthen the community at-large.

Educational Grants:

Diverse Power Foundation educational grants support educational projects in Diverse Power service area schools. Preference is given to projects that significantly enhance the educational experience of students.

The Foundation encourages grant requests for:

- Projects that show innovation in education,
- Projects that support the curriculum through creative application of teaching skills,
- Projects that supplement the curriculum by providing students with key life skills.

The Diverse Power service area includes:

- Georgia: Troup, Harris, Heard, Meriwether, Muscogee, Coweta, Quitman, Randolph, Clay, Calhoun Counties, and parts of Early, Stewart, and Terrell Counties
- Alabama: Chambers County

Term of Contract:

Schools are required to make their approved purchase and requisition grant funds by March 31st of the year following the year in which the grant is awarded.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

The Foundation awards community grants to not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organizations and preK-12 schools that provide quality programs or services to residents living in communities served by Diverse Power.

Grant funds cannot be used for any salaries or fees.

Pre-Application Information:

All grant applications must be received by February 01, 2018.

Grant awards will be announced on March 30, 2018.
