American Association of School Librarians (AASL)
Awards of $10,000 to USA school libraries to recognize outstanding programs that empower staff and students to use ideas and information effectively. Eligible programs are those have a connection to the school curriculum.
The purpose of the award is to recognize programs that meet the needs of the changing school and library environment. Exemplary school library programs ensure that the students and staff are effective users of ideas and information. These programs empower learners to be critical thinkers, enthusiastic readers, skillful researchers and ethical users of information.

- Single schools or school districts are eligible to apply.
- The school librarian must be a personal member of AASL.
Application Deadline: January 1, 2018
It is strongly recommended that the school/school district download and review the attached application and rubric for this award.
AASL Membership information:
Award finalists will be visited between March 1-May 1, 2018.
