Grants ranging from $250 to $3,000 to Ohio nonprofit organizations, as well as all other types of organizations and individuals with nonprofit fiscal sponsors, for projects that advance social change and social justice in any or all of the following Counties: Franklin, Madison, Union, Delaware, Licking, Fairfield, and Pickaway.

ComFest encourages collaborative projects among grant seekers that aim to result in positive community action. Priority will be given to organizations with new and innovative projects; however, funding will also be provided for existing projects.

Grants are made to support special projects, defined as an activity that occurs within a specific timeframe and serves the mission of your organization.

Funding in the past has gone to support proposals for: an actor's theater for youth, scholarships for young musicians, start-up expenses for radio women's programming, suicide outreach services, a human trafficking awareness campaign, and more.

Estimated Size of Grant:

Grants may be requested in amounts ranging from a minimum of $250 to a maximum of $3,000.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Any organization or individual can apply for a grant to support a project, but the grant recipient must be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit or have a fiscal agent at a qualified organization.

Ineligible Requests / Ineligible Use of Funds:
- Grant monies may not be utilized for the cost of a fiscal agent, salaries, or wages.
- The ComFest Grants Program does not fund festivals, parades, seminars, conferences, or general operations.
- Grant applications in support of a single political or other issue, which would endanger ComFest’s nonprofit status, will not be considered.

Pre-Application Information:

The deadline for online grant applications and supporting materials is January 16, 2018. Handwritten applications will be not be accepted.

Grant applications will be reviewed and scored by Grants Subcommittee members pending the selection of finalists by April 30, 2018. Grant awards will be announced and distributed at the membership meeting in May 2018 which is held in the Goodale Park Shelterhouse. The ComFest General Planning Committee will make final decisions on all grants based on the recommendations of the Grants Subcommittee. All applicants will be notified of the final decision.

Grant applicants must show community support for their project in the form of documented cash or in-kind matching resources, which may include volunteer activity.
