Grants to Newark, New Jersey nonprofits, schools, and summer camps for local programs that improve and strengthen the local community and projects that protect the environment throughout the State. Funding is intended for urban education reform, neighborhood revitalization efforts, youth and family development, and preservation of environmentally-significant land throughout the State of New Jersey.

Grants are awarded to nonprofit organizations that provide much needed academic enrichment to students in both public and nonpublic schools, including arts education programs intended to spark creativity and engagement.

Neighborhood Revitalization Efforts
The Foundation makes grants to support the revitalization of the city of Newark. The Foundation hopes to both stabilize distressed neighborhoods and to improve the working and living conditions of Newark residents.

Youth and Families
The Victoria Foundation supports myriad programs that enhance youth development and strengthen families living in Newark. The Foundation makes grants that nurture the growth and social development of children, while at the same time address the needs of families in order to prevent crises.

The Foundation funds projects that maintain, restore, protect, and preserve the natural environment in order to ensure clean water and open space for all New Jersey residents.

The Foundation is directing substantial support to nonprofit organizations involved in developing and implementing the New Jersey Highlands Regional Master Plan. Other grants target ongoing stewardship of conserved land, replenishment of the Garden State Preservation Trust, and the provision of technical assistance to environmental commissions, municipalities, land trusts, and watershed associations.

Grants are for one year and organizations are eligible for renewal grants based upon careful staff and trustee review of subsequent proposal submissions.

Organizations must have a letter from the IRS indicating that they are exempt under Section 501(c)(3) and specifying whether they are a 509(a)(1), 509(a)(2), or 509(a)(3) organization.

Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations, schools and summer camps.

No grants are made to individuals, either as individuals or through a sponsoring organization.
