Grants to federal agencies overseeing the management of recreational trails in Wyoming for trail development, construction, and maintenance. The purpose of this program is to support on-the-ground projects that enhance recreational access for off-road vehicles and snowmobiles. Examples of eligible project costs include the following:

-Snowmobile plowing and grooming
-Trail signing and maintenance
-Drainage improvement/water control on ORV routes
-Trail construction or reconstruction
-Contracted trail work or work done through agency staff
-Trail re-routes
-Construction of parking and trailheads
-Bug tree removal along key trail routes
-Development of ORV connecting routes and loops
-Bridges and other facilities
-Trail materials
-Staff time during construction
-Planning and NEPA for motorized related trails and facilities
-Site-specific plans or updates to existing plans
-Professional fees
-Public meetings
-GIS mapping

Grants will be granted for one (1) and two (2) year periods.

Grants are provided to federal partners for projects on Wyoming ORV trails.

Ineligible expenses include: Grant writing, future costs beyond scope of this grant agreement, existing operations, interpretive signing, overhead, agency fleet costs, costs incurred prior to the contract being in place, advertising or promotions, and staff time for administrative paperwork.

While Motorized Trail Partnership Grants are funded at 100%, agencies are encouraged to provide additional funding since these grants are competitive and matching dollars may help your project in the ranking process.
