Virginia Hodgkins Somers Foundation
Grants of up to $50,000 to Maine nonprofit organizations to benefit residents of York and Cumberland Counties, with a particular emphasis on underserved groups. LOIs are due by January 15, 2018. Consideration will be given to programs that improve the lives of children, offer quality educational opportunities, and support accessibility to the arts.
Applicants may request either project or operating support.

Requests up to $50,000 will be considered; however, the average grant size is less than $10,000.
Multiyear commitments for the same project are discouraged. Applications for consecutive years are not encouraged.
Applicants must be qualified and recognized as charities in accordance with the terms of the Internal Revenue Code.
The Foundation does not make a practice of funding capital campaigns.
