Foundation / Corporation
Montana Environmental Education Association (MEEA)
Grants of up to $500 to Montana nonprofit organizations, schools, government agencies, homeschool organizations, and public school teachers for outdoor programs that provide environmental learning opportunities. Funding is intended to enhance students’ knowledge about the place they live and increase environmental literacy.
With this funding, MEEA would like to be able to provide valuable resources possibly not available otherwise to both formal classroom and nonformal educators across Montana, fostering excellence in environmental education.
Due to a one-time funding opportunity, this year MEEA has dedicated a portion of the grant money specifically to Montana public school teachers.
Past grants have funded a wide range of program materials, transportation costs, wages and stipends for presenters and program facilitators, and in a very few cases, food and meals as needed to accomplish program goals.

MEEA is able to offer 7 mini-grants in 2018. Four of those grants are the standard grants open to all educators and organizations MEEA has offered in the past. New for this year only, due to a specific source of funding, 3 additional grants are available to public school teachers teaching in Montana.
The mini-grant program provides up to $500 per grant.
Mini-grant programs must be implemented and funds must be spent by December 31, 2018, at which time final reports will be due.
Montana schools, homeschools, nonprofit organizations and tax exempt government agencies are eligible to apply.
Educators are encouraged to apply, either individually or with a team. Both informal program providers, and teachers in a formal education setting are eligible to apply for and receive this grant.
MEEA membership is not required to apply, but the MEEA requests that those selected for a grant become members.
More information regarding MEEA membership may be found here: http://www.montanaeea.org/join-us/
Get ‘Em Outside Mini-Grants proposals are due January 15, 2018. Grant recipients will be notified by February 28, 2018 as to whether their project has received funding.
