Request a Grant Writer

Grants of up to $5,000 to Massachusetts nonprofit organizations in eligible locations for programs and services that benefit the elderly, youth, students, and individuals with mental or physical challenges. Funding is intended to support nonprofits that are dedicated to enriching the community and providing health and social services. Requests must demonstrate benefits to Winchester residents.

En Ka considers for funding:

  • New program initiatives
  • Modest capital requests
  • Nonprofit organizations whose primary purpose is providing direct services
  • Requests that demonstrate benefits to Winchester residents

Estimated Size of Grant:

En Ka consideres grant requests from $50 up to a limit of $5000.

Grant requests in excess of $5000 - contact the Gifts Committee Chair

Term of Contract:

Granted money not applied within 6 - 9 months from date of issuance, must be returned to En Ka.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Winchester organizations may apply.

En Ka does not fund:
- Salaries and fixed operating expenses
- Transportation expenses
- Materials and supplies that support day-to-day operations
- Requests from individual elementary schools, for purposes of equity any such request must come from all town elementary schools
- Organizations whose primary purpose is awarding financial grants

Pre-Application Information:

Deadlines:
- October 1
- January 2
- March 1
- May 1

All applicants are notified by the Gifts Committee approximately 4 weeks from the stated deadline.

Only one request per organization will be granted during En Ka's fiscal year, September 1- August 31 of the following year. If your request was declined, you may re-submit.

If multiple requests are submitted, only one request will be considered.

En Ka encourages applicants to apply to other organizations for support.

Grants may be recommended for full or partial funding or may be denied.
