Grants ranging from $500 to $5,000 to Colorado county government agencies, tribes, and child placement agencies to increase the placement of children in adoptive and foster homes. Collaborative proposals are encouraged. Projects may address the recruitment of new foster and adoptive families, or the retention of active foster families.

Ideas for the use of funds include, but are not limited to:
-Advertising on social media channels
-Recruitment and/or Retention Events
-Activities that target unique audiences including LGBTQ, African American, Latino, sibling groups, and teens
-Child-specific recruitment strategies
-Child care or Respite
-Foster Parent Coaching
-Parents’ night out events
-Family activities
-Education or ongoing training
-Other innovative strategies

$500 - $5,000

All grant funded efforts or activities must be completed by April 30, 2017.

Any county department of human services, licensed child placement agency in Colorado and federally recognized tribe is eligible to receive grant funds.

Grant funds are intended to increase recruitment and retention activities throughout the year. Grant funds may NOT be used to fund May Foster Care events or November National Adoption Month events.

Matching funds are not required but highly encouraged.

Applications will be reviewed and approved on a rolling basis beginning November 30, 2016 through the application deadline of January 16, 2017.
