Foundation / Corporation
The Presser Foundation
Grants starting at $25,000 to Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania nonprofit music organizations for capital projects that will create or improve facilities for music education and presentation. Funding is intended for organizations within a 75-mile radius of Philadelphia that provide a broad range of classical symphonic, chamber, choral and/or vocal music. Eligible activities include construction, repairs, renovation, or expansion of existing facilities.
Grants will be made with preference to organizations having a music building previously supported by Theodore Presser, the Presser Foundation, or bearing the name “Presser,” regardless of location. These “legacy” institutions are eligible to receive support for significant capital projects.
Proposals will be judged on:
- The strengths and accomplishments of the applicant organization,
- The relationship of the project to the applicant’s capabilities and to the needs of the community,
- The long-term impact of the project on the applicant and the community,
- The value and feasibility of the project.
