Grants of $1,000 and in-kind grants of gardening supplies to USA and territories nonprofits, schools, and youth programs for new or expanded gardening programs for children and youth. Funding is intended to educate students about gardening and enhance the quality of life for youth and their communities.

The top five programs will receive award packages valued at $2100 that include a $1,000 cash prize and a variety of gardening tools and supplies, including:

- DeerBusters Easy Net Tunnel
- Dramm Corporation Water Nozzle
- Eartheasy Seed Saving Kit and Paper Pot Press
- Fiskars Brands Inc. Hand Tool Package
- Gardener’s Supply Company Tubtrug
- High Mowing Organic Seed Package
- JavaCycle Organic All Purpose Fertilizer
- Smart Pot Big Bag Bed
- SunGro's BlackGold Natural and Organic Potting Soil
- KidsGardening.org Curriculum Package
- $100 Gardener’s Supply Company Gift Certificate

20 programs will receive award packages valued at $500 that include:

A total of 25 programs will be awarded.

Estimated Size of Grant:

Five programs will receive $1,000 cash plus gardening supplies valued at $1,100 and 20 programs will receive a package valued at $500.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Any nonprofit organization, public or private school, or youth program in the United States or US Territories planning a new garden program or expanding an established one that serves at least 15 youth between the ages of 3 and 18 is eligible to apply.

Pre-Application Information:

Applications are due Monday, December 17, 2018. Winners will be notified via email on Thursday, January 31, 2019. Winners will be posted on the KidsGardening website by February 5, 2019. Awards will be distributed in February 2019.
