Grants to Ohio credit unions for programs that help low and moderate-income families and communities through financial services, community programs, and affordable housing. Funding is also available to help other newly established financial institutions and community development associations.

The William A. Herring Social Responsibility Grant funds opportunities such as:

- Providing financial services to economically depressed or underserved communities.
- Assistance for newly-chartered credit unions.
- Support for Community Development Credit Unions, Community Development Financial Institutions, and low-income designated credit unions.
- Projects that improve the quality of life for low and moderate-income families.
- Programs and events that focus efforts on affordable housing opportunities, financial services, and community activities that enhance the positive image of credit unions as well as the public's overall awareness of them.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Credit unions in the state of Ohio are eligible to apply.

Please note:
- Credit unions or chapters will be reimbursed after the event is successfully completed and a grant results report is received.
- Funds many not be used as a cash donation to a third party. ​​​

Pre-Application Information:

Grants are awarded on a bi-monthly cycle to ensure timely processing of the increasing numbers of applications received. Grant applications are accepted throughout the year, and notification of awards occur bi-monthly.
