Request a Grant Writer

Grants to Georgia and South Carolina individuals and organizations for programs that will enhance the lives of residents in eligible communities. Funding will be awarded to programs that seek to provide artistic, educational, scientific, literary, historical, musical, and cultural enrichment. All programs must benefit residents of the City of Augusta and the immediate surrounding area.

1) Individuals:

The grant will be made to men and women, irrespective of race, color, or creed, of high intellectual and personal qualifications who have already demonstrated unusual capacity in productive scholarship, research, or creative ability in the arts. It is not the intent of the Foundation to provide assistance for graduate or undergraduate academic courses, but rather to aid persons of talent in carrying out some specific project or some line of work, which may lead toward fulfillment in their chosen field.

2) Organizations:

It is not the intent of the Foundation that the grant should be used for normal operating expenses, but for a distinct purpose not otherwise provided. Other than to carry out the program for which the grant has been made, the organization will not be obligated in any way, except to submit a brief report to the Trustees at the end of the program, and to make an appropriate acknowledgment of the assistance of the Foundation.

Individuals and organizations may apply.

The individual selected must be a resident of Georgia or South Carolina, though he may use the grant for study or work in any place he chooses.

The grant will be made, preferably, to organizations supported by dues or voluntary contributions; tax-supported organizations, while not excluded from consideration, will be expected to outline a more specific program for using the award, and even in the case of non-tax-supported organizations preference will be given to those organizations planning to use the award in a specific way.

The individual or organization selected will be notified by mail on or about March 1st.
