Grants to Fayette County, Indiana nonprofits, community groups, civic groups, and coalitions for programs in the areas of community betterment, education, and health and human services. LOIs are due October 30, 2017. Funding is available for program support as well as organizational development and capacity building.

The Fayette County Foundation’s mission is to promote positive and sustainable change in the community by developing assets that will be available in perpetuity to energize and nourish endeavors that seek to impact:

Community Betterment
- Arts and cultural development
- Community beautification, improvement, and enhancement projects
- Economic development efforts

Health & Human Services
- Public Safety
- Elderly services
- Children and youth services
- Family services

Education
- Community education on relevant issues
- Educational opportunities for local charities
- Collaborative school projects/programs
- Youth programs

Nonprofit organizations and nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations, coalitions, community associations, and other civic groups may apply to provide services in Fayette County, Indiana. Organizations seeking funding for food pantry support should first contact the Foundation.

Not Funded:

- Operating deficits
- Operating Support (Salaries)
- Annual fund campaigns
- Propaganda, political or otherwise, attempting to influence litigation or intervene in any political affairs or campaigns on behalf of any candidate for public office so as to endanger the charitable nature of the community trust
- Public school services required by state law
- Standard instructional or regular operation costs of non-public schools
- Repeat funding of projects previously supported by the Foundation
- Purchase a house or facility
- Individuals
- Travel purposes
- For profit organizations
- Any purpose that is not in conformity with the constraints placed upon the Foundation by the IRS
- Sponsorship of events / pass through funding / offsetting costs of memberships or activities
- Programs or projects that do not support the current mission of the Foundation
- Applicants without a physical office located within Fayette County

The Foundation operates without discrimination as to age, race, religion, gender, national origin, disability or that perceived as a disability in consideration of grant requests. Likewise, the Foundation does not knowingly support programs which negatively discriminate based on the aforementioned factors.

Faith-based organizations may apply as long as the project does not mandate participation in a religious activity as a condition for receiving services.

In the case of an organization seeking funds to help individuals in a recovery process, the community organization must be a certified site or in partnership with a certified site by the Indiana Division of Mental Health and Addiction.

Timeline
- Letters of Intent Deadline: October 30, by 4 p.m.
- Grant Applications Deadline: November 20, 2017 by 4 p.m.
- Funding Announcements: December 22, 2017

Once the LOI is submitted, Katherine will review your request and let you know if your grant request is viable. If so, a grant application will be sent to you via email. If not, she will let you know that as well.

Funding Announcements will take place towards the end of April 2017.
