Grants of up to $10,000 to Idaho institutions of higher education for programs that support underserved students in receiving access to a higher education, and to assist them in completing their degrees. Funding will be awarded to applicants who will distribute scholarships to low-income students or to those who are the first generation in their families to attend college.

Low-income generally includes students who are eligible for Pell grants or from families eligible for one of the following public assistance programs: Food Stamps, Free and Reduced Price Lunch, or Temporary Assistance to Needy Families.

The advisors prefer that qualified applicants make an effort to provide more students with smaller scholarships (ex: 6 scholarships of $1,000) rather than a few students with larger scholarships (ex: 2 scholarships of $3,000).

Up to $10,000.

Eligibility is limited to accredited universities, colleges, schools, or other institutions described in IRC Section 170(c)(1), or educations programs or institutions operated by Indian Tribal governments or programs operating under IRC Section 7871.

ICF will only accept one application per qualifying university, college, school or other educational institution.

Recipients shall distribute all grant funds as scholarships to support postsecondary students meeting the following eligibility criteria: students are low income and/or are the first generation in their family to attend college.

Grant funds shall not be used for administrative overhead or other costs related to the provision of program services (ex: salaries, equipment, training, travel, etc).

Final funding decisions will be announced in late February/early March 2017.
