Awards of $1,000 to Utah K-12 educators in the Granite School District to recognize dedication to their students and their academic achievement. The purpose of this award is to honor educators who ensure their students are prepared for 21st-century challenges. Strong candidates have a track record of improving student achievement, using innovative instructional strategies and making a difference in the lives of their students.

Winners will receive $1,000 plus additional perks and prizes.
All current classroom teachers currently teaching grades K-12 in the Granite School District are eligible. Nine educators and one administrator will be selected.
Previous Excel winners are ineligible.
Nominations can be submitted by students, fellow teachers, supervisors, district administrators or other interested individuals.
Self-nominees are not eligible and will be disqualified.
All nominations must be received by close of business day, Friday, December 8, 2017.
Based on the nominees submitted, the Granite Education Foundation solicits those nominated to take the next step in the nomination process by completing a rigorous application process.
Officials from the Granite Education Foundation, Granite School District, and members of the Board of Judges, review every application, visit the classes (unannounced) of each Excel educator finalist weighing their observations against a rubric. Winners are announced in a surprise visit.
