Grants to Maryland and West Virginia nonprofit organizations and government agencies to meet identified needs in local communities. Priority areas include education and youth leadership, health and wellness, arts and historical preservation, and quality of life and environment. Activities must benefit the communities of Allegany and Garrett Counties, Maryland; and Mineral County, West Virginia.
CTF is committed to identifying high priority needs and opportunities to make a significant positive impact on the community. CTF grants are typically used to provide start-up or short-term funding to innovative projects designed to meet emerging needs or with creative solutions to longer term issues.

Eligible organizations must be:
-501(c)(3) organizations and agencies,
-Located in and/or primarily serve residents of Allegany and Garrett Counties in Maryland and in Mineral County West Virginia,
-Non-discriminatory in the hiring of staff or in providing services on the basis of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, national origin or disability.
Applicants may indicate the following tax statuses:
-Agency of Government
Grants are not made to individuals.
CTF’s General Grant applications should not be used to request funds for:
-Programs that proselytize for specific political actions or religious beliefs, or
-Programs involving fundraising, or
-Reimbursement of past expenses.
CTF’s grant cycle concludes on February 28th each year. Applications must be received by that date in order to be considered for that fiscal year. Packages postmarked after the final date of each cycle will be considered in the following cycle.
