Grants of up to $75,000 to Arkansas arts nonprofits to maintain organizational operations. Funding may be used for expenses including, but not limited to, fundraising and marketing costs, facility rental, utilities, facility maintenance, staff travel, administrative staff salaries, or other expenses associated with the general operation of the organization. Grant funds may be spent only for non-programmatic administrative expenses.

The Major Arts Partners (MAP) program funds established not-for-profit local arts agencies or single discipline organizations with a three-year budget average equal to or greater than $1 million.

Estimated Size of Grant:

MAP applicants may request a maximum of 5% of the average of its last three years adjusted actual operating income in FY18, FY19, and FY20 up to $75,000.

Term of Contract:

Grant awards for FY22 are made for programs and activities occurring between July 1, 2021 and June 30, 2022.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

The Major Arts Partners (MAP) program funds established not-for-profit local arts agencies or single discipline organizations with a three-year budget average equal to or greater than $1 million.

To be eligible as a Major Arts Partner, an organization must:
- Be a 501(c)(3) arts organization with a three-year average total income equal to or greater than $1 million for FY18 (2017-18), and FY19 (2018-19). and FY20 (2019-2020)
- Generate at least 25% of operating revenues from earned income
- Generate at least 25% of operating revenues from contributed income or sponsorships exclusive of endowment income
- Have a staff person designated to develop and implement the pre-K-12 educational outreach program if applying for an AIE grant.

Funds may not be used for artistic or technical staff, or for contracted administrative or artistic costs.

Pre-Application Information:

The MAP FY22 GOS application due date is January 22, 2021.

Eligible Major Arts Partners may submit a maximum of two proposals: one application in the MAP General Operating Support category and one in a MAP Arts in Education category. For details, see the Guidelines link below.

The request must be matched at least 2:1 by the organization's artistic expenditures. Matching funds that are anticipated at the time of application must be received and obligated no later than June 30, 2022. In-kind contributions may not be used as matching funds on applications or counted as matching funds on final report.
