Request a Grant Writer

Grants to Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island nonprofits for projects that promote community inclusion for senior citizens and vulnerable populations. LOIs are due January 22, 2018. Consideration will be given to projects carried out by community leaders working with multiple stakeholders to achieve a common goal.

This work could include current or new activities that directly or indirectly lead to age-friendly communities and address barriers to success in the most vulnerable communities. The Foundation will consider the intersection between policy and practice as well as collaborative community work in the built environment, transportation, housing, social and civic participation and inclusion, employment, communication and information, and community support and health services.

Term of Contract:

The grant cycle runs from July 1, 2018 - June 30, 2019. Multi-year proposals will be considered.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Eligible applicants include community-based organizations and community health centers; support to hospitals or medical centers will only be considered if project includes community-based partners.

The Tufts Health Plan Foundation funds projects based in or serving, in whole or in part, communities in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island.

Not Funded:
-Candidates for public office
-Capital projects and/or equipment
-Development activities, such as fundraising events, capital campaigns, or annual fund drives
-Endowments
-General operating expenses
-Government agencies (unless within a collaboration led by a community-based organization)
-Individuals (including scholarships, internships, and/or fellowships)
-Lobbying
-Organizations that advocate, support or practice discrimination based on race, religion, age, national origin, language, sex, sexual preference, or physical handicap
-Private foundations
-Religious organizations for religious purposes
-Research for specific disease states
-Underwriting of medical expenses

Pre-Application Information:

LOIs and applications for the James Roosevelt, Jr., Leadership Fund are accepted during the following cycles:

- Letters of Intent Due: January 22, 2018
- Notification of Invitation: February 21, 2018
- Full Proposals Due: March 28, 2018
- Notification of Award: late June
- Grant Cycle: July 1, 2018 - June 30, 2019
