Award to a Nevada or Arizona educator, administrator, or volunteer who has demonstrated outstanding leadership in improving the quality of K-12 STEM education. Nominees should have made meaningful contributions beyond a single classroom, for example, at a school or on a local or statewide level.

Qualified nominees may include, but are not limited to educators, volunteers, administrators, or others who have effected change at the school or district level, individuals working with after-school or summer programs, or persons who have made significant contributions to science initiatives in a city, area, or state.

The recipient of the award will be presented with a plaque and $50 gift card.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Nominees may be individuals working in charter, private, and public schools, as well as organizations such as museums, after-school clubs, and other organizations dedicated to student education and success.

Any nominated individual working with grade K-12 youth in one of these capacities who has not previously received this recognition will be considered.

Neither nominator nor nominee need to be members of the Academy.

Pre-Application Information:

All nominations must be postmarked no later than January 31st.

Express mail or parcel service will be allowed if posted by deadline. Fax, email, and other electronic applications will not be accepted.

The annual winner will be notified of his/her selection in February.

The recipient of the award will be presented with a plaque and gift card at the Annual Awards Luncheon held each spring (usually late March or early April) as part of the Academy's Annual Meeting. Lunch will be provided for the recipient and one guest. If your nominee is the educator selected for recognition, you and your guest will also be invited to join them at the luncheon.
