Illinois Clean Energy Community Foundation
Grants to Illinois nonprofit organizations, colleges, universities, and local government agencies to install solar thermal systems throughout the state. The Foundation has supported installations that provide clean energy in community centers, fire stations, schools, and other facilities.
-Complement the implementation of significant energy efficiency measures at the facility planning to install the solar thermal system
-Feature a strong education and outreach component
-Must have year-round hot water/heating/cooling load
-Train current and future facilities staff to operate and maintain the solar thermal system
-Monitor system performance and submit annual performance reports for the first three years of operation
-Ground-mounted solar thermal installations: submit the results of an IDNR information request using the EcoCat Assessment Tool.

Eligible applicants may apply for up to $100/square foot of collector area or 60% of the system and its installation costs, whichever is less, inclusive of state funding.

ALL applicants are required to provide a letter from the U.S. Internal Revenue Service (IRS) confirming their Employer Identification Number (EIN). 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations must additionally provide an IRS Tax Determination Letter, which may also contain the EIN information.
