Grants of up to $20,000 to Dallas County, Iowa nonprofits and agencies for programs that will enhance the quality of life within the local community. Funding will be awarded to programs in the areas of health, human services, community betterment, education, historic preservation, arts, culture, humanities, public and society benefit, and environment or animals.

The maximum grant awarded for any one proposal is $20,000.
Grant funds will be available no later than May, and must be used within twelve months.
The Foundation makes grants to IRS 501(c) (3), (5) or (6) federal income tax exempt organizations and 170(b) units of government organizations.
Religious or political organizations are not eligible, unless their project benefits the entire community.
An organization not having one of the federal income tax-exempt designations listed above can affiliate with an organization that does, such as your city government. The grant requesting organization would need to ask that entity to be their fiscal agent.

Grant Writing Workshop will take place January 9, 2018 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at the Adel Public Library at 303 South 10th Street in Adel.
If you want to learn more about the Dallas County Foundation grant process, please plan to attend a grant workshop seminar. The Foundation will walk you through the grant application and answer any questions regarding the selection process.

Matching and/or in-kind funds are required. Matching funds may come from another source or your own dollars. In-kind donations could be unpaid labor, donated materials, etc.
- January 9: Grant Writing Workshop
- February 1: Application due by 5:00 PM.
- February: Grant Committee reviews applications.
- February-March: Grant Committee recommendations presented for Board approval.
- March – April: Grant applicants will be notified of approval or denial.
- April – May: Checks will be presented at an Awards Reception.
Grants sent through the mail MUST BE postmarked prior to February 1, 2018.
